Fairy houses

Did you know that fairies live in Dordrecht? They have been living in the forest in the Elzen since 2020. Now I have to say that they are a bit shy, because they never show themselves during the day when we come to admire their houses. Too bad, because their houses are beautiful!

The houses are made by the Dordrecht Moniek de Koning and at the moment there are fourteen houses to admire. All the fairy houses are close together and the route is fine for small children. The route is not very long and therefore also great for the short attention span of the little ones. If you have a child in a pram or buggy, that’s no problem, because the route is easily accessible. Keep in mind, the path where the fairies are living is grassy, so when it has been raining, it can be muddy. On the weekends it is often a bit busier on the route, so if you find this annoying and have time to go during the week, that is definitely recommended.

After the walk you can take the children to the Speelbos De Viersprong (location on the map )

Route

From the parking lot of Het Paviljoen De Viersprong (address: Noorderelsweg 6A) you turn right into the forest. Keep following the path and after the bridge you will automatically come across the first door (look carefully! :)) Then turn left onto the path and there you will encounter the fairy houses while walking. Look carefully, because they are both high and low.

The fairy houses are easily accessible by car (you can park for free). If you have access to a bike, it’s also recommended to come by bike. Park your bike at Paviljoen De Viersprong and continue on foot.
