General information

Dordrecht

Dordrecht, the oldest city in Holland (not to be confused with the Netherlands), an island and a city where there is something to find for everyone. It is not without reason that the English newspaper The Times has named our city the hidden gem of the Netherlands.

Dordrecht (or ‘Dordt’ in short) has a rich history. There is a beautiful historic city center with various attractions, such as ‘De Grote Kerk’, a large shopping area with surprising boutiques, small streets and a large cultural offer in the form of museums, theaters, music venues and art galleries. Various festivals and other events take place in summer, which can often also be visited free of charge. Dordrecht is also highly recommended for the (active) nature lover. You will find ‘De Hollandse Biesbosch’ and ‘De Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch’ where you can take long walks, rent boats and swim in the swimming pond in the summer.

Have we convinced you to come to visit Dordrecht for a day or weekend? Or have you already booked a few nights and came here to read what there is to do in our beautiful Dordrecht? We think you’ve come to the right place! On this website you will find all kinds of information to make your visit to Dordrecht a great experience. Ranging from very practical information about parking and overnight stays to the most beautiful sights, the restaurants where you can get the best food and we also are trying to categorize the child-friendly hotspots.

We started this website because we – as residents of Dordrecht – noticed that there is actually very little good and extensive information about our city. We think that is a shame, because there is so much to discover here! We hope you will enjoy your stay in Dordrecht, as much as we enjoy living here.
